SAMUEL GOLDWYN FILMS ACQUIRES WORLDWIDE RIGHTS TO JOHN PAPOLA’s AT THE FORK

John Papola and his wife, Lisa, go on a journey about food in this documentary set for early release December 27 and wide release January 3

atthefork_sgf_websiteLOS ANGELES, CA (November 28, 2016) -- Samuel Goldwyn Films announced today they have acquired worldwide rights to director/producer John Papola’s AT THE FORK. Samuel Goldwyn Films has partnered with Whole Foods Market and The Humane Society of the United States to bring this farm-to-plate documentary to the masses.

AT THE FORK is slated for an early release on select digital platforms December 27th. It will be available On Demand, Digital and DVD January 3rd at participating Whole Foods Market locations.

Filmmaker and omnivore, John Papola, together with his vegetarian wife Lisa, offer up a timely and refreshingly unbiased look at how farm animals are raised for our consumption. With unprecedented access to large-scale conventional farms, Papola asks the tough questions behind every hamburger, glass of milk, and baby-back rib. What he discovers are not heartless industrialists, but America’s farmers — real people who, along with him, are grappling with the moral dimensions of farming animals for food.

“AT THE FORK is a timely examination of where our food comes from,” says President of Samuel Goldwyn Films Peter Goldwyn. “Like John, I was an avid carnivore, but John and Lisa’s film has really made me examine where the food on my plate is coming from.”

"I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Samuel Goldwyn Films for the worldwide release of AT THE FORK,” says Papola. “Peter and his team’s passion for the project and filmmaker-centric approach is second to none."

AT THE FORK is produced by John Papola, Lisa Versaci, Cristina Colissimo, Jordana Glick-Franzheim, and Executive Produced by Dave Matthews.  The deal was negotiated by Peter Goldwyn and Jill Karole of Samuel Goldwyn Films, and Abby Davis at Preferred Content on behalf of the filmmakers.
